“I've read your posts on all four and I'm more confused than when I started. Just tell me how to decide.”

The short answerPick the one criterion that dominates your week, shortlist on that, then let your postcode settle it. Everything else is noise.
EEBroadest coverage and the standalone-5G lead — at premium prices.
O2Inclusive EU roaming and split contracts that stop — mind the evening squeeze.
ThreeCheapest unlimited and top-tier 5G speed — weaker deep indoors.
Sky MobileBanked data and monthly resizing on rented O2 signal — best inside Sky homes.
Which criterion should decide?
If you work from home
Indoor signal beats everything
Wi-Fi Calling support and a genuine one-month trial matter more than any headline speed. Test the room you actually sit in.
If you commute
Test at rush hour
Congestion never appears on a coverage map. Stand on your own platform at six with a trial SIM before signing anything.
If you travel
Roaming policy decides
Currently that points at O2, the only big-four network still including Europe on standard plans.
If you're a household
Price the whole house
Multi-line discounts and broadband bundles usually settle it — compare total household cost, not one line.
If you're light
Buy from a tenant
giffgaff, SMARTY, 1pMobile and the rest sell landlord signal for a fraction of the price.
Shortlist by your dominant criterion.
Coverage-check every shortlisted network at your postcode.
Audition the leader with one rolling month via its budget tenant.
Only then compare total cost across the full term.
Set a yearly reminder to repeat the whole exercise in ten minutes.
