The short answerRolling if anything about your situation is unproven — a new address, a new network, a possible house move. Fixed only when you already know the signal works and you'll genuinely stay put.
One-month rollingSlightly dearer, cancels anytime. The audition ticket and the flexibility king.
12–24 monthsCheaper for the promise; any early-exit sum is disclosed in the PAC reply.
UnlimitedHonest on the handset at home; tethering clauses and overseas ceilings are the bends.
Special mechanicsRollover banks, exempt social apps, Clubcard hooks, per-unit billing — price them in, don't worship them.
If you've just moved
Rolling, always
You have no idea what the signal does in a new home until you've lived on it for a month. Paying slightly more for the right to leave is cheap insurance.
If you've been happy for years
Fixed is fine
Proven signal plus a settled address is exactly when the discount for committing is worth taking. Diary the end date anyway.
Whatever you choose
Re-shop once a year
Out-of-contract prices drift upward quietly. Ten minutes a year — check your monthly, compare three rivals on the same allowance, then switch or negotiate — beats every flash sale going.
