The short answerPut it in writing, keep the reference, and count to eight weeks. At that point — or the moment they issue a deadlock letter — a free, independent ombudsman takes over, and its ruling binds them and not you.
Complain in writing — app transcript, email or letter — with dates, facts and the outcome you want. Keep the reference.
Give them a fair window, and log every contact meanwhile.
At eight weeks unresolved, or the moment a deadlock letter arrives, escalate for free.
The Communications Ombudsman (CISAS for some providers) reviews the file and rules.
Court routes stay open afterwards; the ombudsman usually makes them unnecessary.
What actually wins

Evidence, not eloquence

Status-page screenshots, usage screens, bills, chat transcripts and a simple dated log outperform any amount of frustration. Start the folder on the first bad day.

Bundled billsComplain to the brand on the bill; references matter double during account migrations.
Tenant brandsComplain to the tenant you bought from, never the landlord network.
Mis-sellingUse the word explicitly in writing — it triggers a specific review lane.
